I am trying to figure out what Wavenation is selling for the money. If I am not mistaken Google Voice used to charge $10 to change your phone number. While that would discourage a teen from changing his number too often, it means nothing to a drug dealer. Now they do it for free but there is a 90 day waiting period.
It is not clear what Wavenation's policy is about changing numbers.
Many years ago when Android phones were expensive I bought a wired phone that plugs into the USB port that I could use with Google Voice. Then when cheap Android phones were introduced by Tracfone, I simply bought a Tracfone and hooked it up to Google Voice even though the package said that the phone was being sold at a reduced price and was strictly for use with Tracfone.
It is possible that Wavenation is simply selling something for $4 a month to people who don't understand that it is free elsewhere. I am not precisely sure what you are getting when you buy Magic Jack or Vonage.
