In 8 years of reading forums for smartphone info and problems, Ive never heard of anything like this from a carrier update.

What is the phone carrier?

Is the prompt contained within the browser app? Or is some other app opening up?

A picture of the screen would be very helpful. If you have another device, camera, Ipad, etc, take a pic with it and post it.

Have the same phone and no problems. However, I never opt for automatic updates. Some apps I rather reinstall than update. Updates eats more memory.

This has nothing to do with the update.

OP: Settings > WiFi and Internet > WiFi > Saved Networks > are there any for Xfinity or whatev listed there?
