What does it matter? The tower that services my house has two antenna arrays,. ATT and Verizon. And if Sprint has almost the same number as Verizon, how come Spirit has lousy coverage and Verizon has great coverage?

Ultimately, no matter how many towers each carrier owns or how many bars are displayed on the phone the only thing that matters is if your carrier has adequate coverage where you use the phone. It does matter market by market and one user's experience can easily differ for another user depending where the phone is used or what brand of phone is used. No single cookie cutter answer/solution on all networks or devices.

That is my question too. I have got another 5 millions of cell towers I have no idea the network operator is, I suppose some of them are operated by Verizon, otherwise how can people explain Verizon has such good coverage.

I agree. And that's why I tried to create a tool to help people find cell tower coverage for any carrier at any place, cities, villages, suburb, urban areas...

Absolutely incorrect, it all depends on what area as far a coverage is concerned. I use my Sprint phone in a generally rural area with little difficulty.

Come visit me. I’ll be happy to loan you my Verizon phone to order a pizza. In the meantime we will use your Sprint phone as a paperweight till you go back to your urban home

Are all those towers enabled?
Did OP just got the physical # of towers, or #of active towers?
As a fact I know of few towers that are just standing there, but completely out of business, because no one cares to take them down...
