I have unlimited now and some time, to be honest, it is faster than my wifi. How bad is it to leave it on instead of turning on wifi? I do occasionally turn it on but turn my wifi back on soon as I can. I am not running video's or such, just facebook and such. If I watch a video I turn on wifi for sure. BTW: I have Verizon Wireless

It's fine. Your 'unlimited' isn't truly unlimited. When you hit 23GB of data, Verizon will throttle your account down to slow speeds. If you can hit 23gb without running video., I would be truly impressed. That's going to be hard to do.

The most I have used so far is 3 gigs with turning it on and off.

At least 3-4 days a month I use my phone's hotspot for home internet as the DSL is slower than dialup that often. I almost never have it connected to home WiFi. Videos will eat up some data, around 1GB/hour for SD, 3GB for HD, 7 GB for 4K depending on compression used. I wouldn't sit around binging on all eight seasons of Game of Thrones but if you want to watch an episode or three you'll be fine. I rarely go over 20 GB and mostly that is from video.

We have fast WiFi at home. 35 megs+. I’ll stream one or two hours of video in the evening. Unless we are traveling our 4gig data plan is all we need. As far as the OP’s question it does not matter if you leave your data on. What matters is when you use data. Judging by the opening post It sounds like the OP is wasting money by being on an unlimited plan. I too am with Verizon.

My plan is Plan: 55+ LOYALTY UNLIMITED PLAN
Effective: 06/14/2019
Access Cost$80.00
and I get $5 off to be automatically paid.

Before I signed up for this plan my bill was $100 for two phones for 4 gigs

Unlimited is just that, they don't shut off data access, they only slow it down at the threshold. The higher speed connection is restored the first day of the next billing cycle.

I checked into it and Verizon said it was only available to Florida residents. But we pay $90 a month for 2 lines. $10 savings is not a big deal for us

I live in Ohio and was given this plan because I had been with Verizon since 1999 and we are over 55.

I’ll give them a call, rather than just visiting their website
