Notice that he escaped prison in India with a bribe. The Singapore authorities turned him over to the US. This just confirms that India authorities are complicit, and that we need the ability to block calls originating from foreign countries.

According to Steve Lehto, 20 years in federal prison means you actually serve 20 years. He'll be as old as I am when he is released.

Not quite, but it won’t be 2 weeks.

He could get good time credit of 47 days per year. Or around 2 years, 10 months off.

Good. Have no problem with any robocaller going to prison (or executed), and that includes those who make no money.

However, it sure does amaze me how people can fork over money from the actions of a robocaller. Heck, I've been waiting three or maybe four years for the US Marshal to come arrest me cause I told him over the phone to shove his warrant up his rear end vs. sending in a number from a visa prepaid card he wanted me to purchase. And the fool actually stated he was the US Marshal situated in Idaho Falls, not a deputy US Marshal; so they cannot even get the locations or chain of command correct.

So, why do people pay???

Well... I don't pay.

I just want my phone to quit ringing.
Glad this guy is going to do some serious time.

Thanks for the clarification. There were also another couple dozen accomplices who were sentenced to prison.

I want my phone to quit ringing, too. Since mom died in May 2020, I no longer have any important phone calls (She was in memory care; the staff would call me if there was a problem). I have the ringer off now, and if I see the phone flashing, I just ignore it.

Sorry to hear this.
My issue is different. As a real estate agent, I have to answer all calls. I never know what legitimate opportunity may be on the other end.
So, I tire of scumbag robocallers and telemarketers.

Now all that needs to be done is have an old cell-phone placed outside his cell, set to ring at random times in the day or night.

I’m sure that Indian guy is going to enjoy a prison in Texas.

Here’s the thing - as he’s not a US citizen he doesn’t qualify for one of the minimum security prison farms. He’ll have to go to a medium security institution.
