Default Why does cell phone get HOT?

I just received a replacement for my "just replaced" for another issue Razor
V9.

The previous phone was a replacement for the one I got in January. It started to get hot & they sent me a new one, minus a new battery.

The 2nd phone had the screen go black & sometimes come on but when you shut the phone & opened it, no screen.

The next phone, the one I"m sending back today, gets HOT after 5 - 10 min. of use. The talk time on battery also seems short. They would not admit it could be a battery problem but said it's a connection problem within the phone & sent me a new one yesterday.

The guys at the Alltel store are just robots and can't tell me anything.

I am so over this phone at this point.

When the phone got hot, it would shut off....

If this new phone does the same thing, I'm going to lose it bad on customer service.

To a point it's ok for a phone to get warm while in use but never so hot you can't hold it.
The heat is a result of the chemical action of drawing power from the battery and it's normal
to warm the battery. When the battery get's hot then something is either way wrong with the
phone or the battery 'cause there's a dead short somewhere.

Default Update

Called customer service (Alltel) to see if they would send me a new battery.

They don't carry the batteries for the Razor V9 (gee, wonder why?)

But...they would "upgrade" me with a new phone & of course, that involves extending my 2 year contract. I did not fall for that one, sorry Alltel.

Thank you also to the OP who gave the Alltel update code. I did that this morning. We'll see if it helps. How often does that need to be done?
