I am looking at buying an unlocked Blackberry 8310 on the internet. I went into my ATT store yesterday and asked them if you had to have the data plan for a blackberry. They said that you did. But he said that Blackberry just requires them to sell it that way now... and that they had just begun this.
Sooo... do if you buy the phone online, will it still be able to make calls, send text messages, etc? I understand that there will be no internet features or anything like that, but right now I am just wanting a Blackberry for the full keyboard and because I plan on getting the data plan in the next year or so.
Yes, you can do that if you want to. I mean, if you already had a plan and wanted to switch the SIM card from one phone to the BB. I don't know if they will sell you a new plan that way though.
