I feel this should be under the Cell Phones subforum instead of the Internet forum.

If I'm driving an old junker and see someone texting I'll run into them, claim they hit me, and get a new car...

Heard this on NPR this morning, or maybe it was yesterday.

STudies have shown since the no phone while driving laws have been applied that there has been no evidence that blue tooth or anything else have reduced accidents. I would assume this would apply to texting as well. Texting is obviously dangerous while driving however. The study claims that people who would talk on a cell phone or text while driving are just bad drivers and are probably going to find something else to distract them instead. I agree with this. Bad/irresponsible drivers are always going to be just that no matter what laws are passed.

Surely this means they will rescind the law and give up another potential driving tax on use poor citizens?

This is related to the internet how? There is already plenty of discussion on this subject in the automotive section where it belongs.
