If only the Iphone was on T-mobile. I would go so crazy!!! haha. I just never was a fan of AT&T, so i know that was out the question.
I don't see T-Mobile getting it. They have the worst network and wouldn't have the capability of supporting the data network. AT&T is having a hard enough time. Sprint and Verizon Wireless would be better.
i haven't used the iphone much, but it seems that everyone likes it. the biggest drawback is at&t's 3g coverage outside major metropolitan areas is nothing compared to verizon.
my wife and i use blackberry; i prefer them over everything else. i mostly like the keyboard for typing in word and excel, and everyone i need to keep in contact with throughout the day is on BB messenger.
i need my e-mails coming to my phone as they are sent; this is a feature BB offers. BB is limited on apps compared to the iphone, but i'm not an app person. I have a few such as weather, banking, ebay, garmin, google maps, pandora, and calculation utilities that are specifically related to my work; along with 'documents to go' and a .pdf utility.
my brother and his wife use droid; they're nice. i don't like touchscreen phones, but the keyboard wasn't as awkward as i thought. if you want a phone specifically for internet browsing, droid eris is the way to go. it blows the socks off anything else, including the iphone. he clocked it @ 2.2Mbps at my house; i've yet to see an at&t network capable of that.
in summary, BB is the best for instant communication via e-mail and messenger service. the others seem like they're more for play, but i know some guys in my industry that are ditching BB's for droid; however most have cited lower costs with the droid as there is no server to maintain for enterprise solutions.

Great explanation. Another point would be about syncing to your calendar. Palm is the best for that.

Buy an unlocked iPhone. Lot of people are running iPhones on T-mobile's network, but keep in mind that they will not operate at 3G speeds. That may or may not be a big deal to you.
