Hi All:

Maybe I am making too much of the heat, but given the insane temperatures that seem to be the norm in Charleston, does anyone know if moves are ever/frequently done in the evening? Also, I think my wife asked on this forum, but can anyone recommend a place that would have hired hands for helping with our move; we arrive Saturday or Sunday?

I would recommend doing the moving in the evening, these temps are unusually hot, =tThe norm is in the upper 80's not upper 90's......

Two men and a truck are pretty good from what I hear, but I have never used them....

There is a website online, think it's called 'movinghelp.com' you can hire a couple (or more) guys to help you move your stuff from the truck into house or vise versa, we have used this site on a few occasions, the price averages out at around $60 for two guys per hour, great service, no complaints!

Just walking out to the mailbox is a joke! Come back inside, soaked. Not sure if there's such a thing as a good time to move (esp here in the summer) ... I'd go w/ 2men & a truck too. Make sure you have cold drinks for them, water/gatorade. They'll appreciate it and less likely to bang your stuff around ... BTW, we've used them before, tipping is appreciated!

Morning might be better if you get up early because there are late afternoon thunder storms to worry about when you have hot days. This heat is way above normal.

I would go for early morning too. I've used two men and a truck and have been very happy with their service.

We are getting ready to use Two men and a truck for Friday but I already moved all the items except the heavy or bulky two person items.

They charge a minimum of two hours so keep that in mind and packing can get very expensive so do as much packing and disassembling as possible.
