Mr. Don's carries a large line of childlren's dance shoes and dancewear - tap and ballet. Just as Mr. Peatie said, it's at South Windermere next to Affordables, on Folly Rd.
Affordables is only one of my favorite local stores! However, don't let the name fool you....affordable it's not! I can't go in there without buying at least 3 or 4 outfits, so only go a few times a year. It's not real expensive, but not "discount" either. They have a nice selection of styles, colors, and accessories, including costume jewelry. That reminds me....I haven't been in 4 or 5 months.....

Shoot....was hoping it was for bargain hunters. The places I know of to get nice clothes at good prices (for me and DH, not necessarily for kids) are Marshall's/TJ Maxx and Stein Mart. Haven't been to these locally....are they good ones? I think the Marshalls in Mt. P. is a Home Goods too? I LOVE Home Goods.
Any other suggestions?
I have to drive by King Street to take my daughter to preschool---I noticed there is a Pottery Barn there.....ooh...shopping nirvana.
What about a good place to get affordable decorator fabrics? I have driven by GDC Home a bunch, but have heard mixed reviews (haven't had a chance to go in yet).
Stein Mart (my favorite of the three) is on Savannah Hwy. in St. Andrews Shopping Center. Tj Maxx and Marshalls are next to each other in a shopping center on Sam Rittenberg Blvd. in West Ashley. I can't think of the name of the shopping center, but it's where Sam Rittenberg and Ashley River Rd. (Rt. 61) intersect. There is also an Office Depot and a Barnes and Noble in the shopping center, as well as a nice fabric store. I go to this fabric store pretty often for craft materials, but can't think of the name of it, but it's not GDC. I like it much better than GDC. You might also try Boone Decorative Fabrics at 1921 Savannah Hwy. in West Ashley.
