Have you read the proposal? Look at the numbers. This will not solve the traffic problems. They need to go back to the drawing boards and come up with something that actually works.
If you want to go on a safari- of sorts- go to auto junkyards and look at the old bumper stickers. Two common ones for 70's vintage cars will be, 'Stop The Bull- Build The Bridge!' and 'Save The Wando'.

Well, the bridge got built (the James Island Bridge to downtown) and it didn't help a damn thing- because of what passes for zoning down there. See, Charleston never will 'road' its way out of this if all it's gonna do is cut the land up so as to squeeze as many people as possible into as small of spaces as possible; might be a developer's dream, but it's just going to be another collective nightmare.

And the Wando, didn't get 'saved' either, but that's another story.
