The College Board just released the SAT scores for public and private high school seniors in 2010. The national average was 1509 for all students. Three Charleston County schools and one Berkeley County Public school exceeded the national average. They were Wando HS (1515), Academic Magnet HS of Charleston (1882), Charleston County School of the Arts(1587), and Hanahan High school (1543). It is interesting to note that Wando's "Mean Composite Score" fell from 1568 in 2009 to 1515 in 2010. Part of that decline may be due to the increase in rising seniors taking the test from 469 to 582. 81% of Wando's rising seniors were tested.

Summerville's Mean Composite score was 1466, a decline from 1491 in 2009. The increase in test takers went from 377 to 384. 51% of the rising seniors were tested. The report can be downloaded at this link. (http://www.ed.sc.gov/topics/assessment/scores/sat/2010/documents/SAT2010-SchoolScores.xls - broken link)
