I will be visiting your fine city later this week for the first time, and would like to hear from the locals about great classic under the radar (or over the radar) Charleston restaurants, sights, galleries, etc.. I'm really excited about this vacation since I love history, architecture, food----and the people I've met from South Carolina are some of the most polite people I've met. (and I've travelled pretty extensively). Thanks.

A few questions:

Is parking difficult in the historic district this time of year?

Is the historic district safe at night?

Will I really gain 5 pounds during the week?

My husband and I were in the historic district last Thursday afternoon around 2 pm. We had no problem getting a parking space in one of the parking garages there. I'm sure, though, that it's much more difficult on a weekend.

We have also been there at night.....at many different times of the year. We've never felt unsafe.

As far as your weight questions.....Well, uh.........I guess that's up to you....LOL!

A few questions:

Is parking difficult in the historic district this time of year? Yes for on street parking, parking garages are spattered all over the city withing short walk...

Is the historic district safe at night? Yes up until they roll up the streets....

Will I really gain 5 pounds during the week? Yes, unless you eat like a girl....
