Hi,
I broke my left leg about a month ago, so I am still only able to walk with crutches. I can't put any weight at all on my left leg.
I am going to Charleston soon, and was wondering a few things:
where can I go that has easy, close parking? restaurants, coffee shops, etc . . .
are there any stores (I mainly think of places like Target, Kroger, etc) that have free parking? (this is for the purpose of bathrooms . . .)
what is the easiest beach to find parking at?

any recommended scenic driving routes?
My plan is mainly to drive around! I'm not doing the typical touristy things like museums and houses because I just can't.

Thanks

I would suggest Folly Beach......you can park in the parking lot at the pier and enjoy the pier
or sit on a bench and enjoy the ocean without getting in the sand if that would be a problem.

If you wanted to walk around the Market area there is a lot (after banking hours) on the corner of
Market and Meeting. The cost is $8.00 to park and that might be easy for you to park and enjoy walking around downtown a bit.

Most of the stores like in Mt. P or James Island you can stop and take potty breaks.
Maybe you could take advantage of a carriage or bus tour and that would be easy on the leg.

Enjoy your trip!

I would also recommend you take the drive up hwy 61 from W Ashley to Summerville. It is a beautiful ride. Speedy recovery!

Not sure what IL rules are but my aunt in Mt P. Had a temp Handi-Cap for when she was in a cast. Made parking easyer for her, also the city parking deck downtown was free when she show'ed her permit. Check with IL DMV to see what there rules & req are to get a Temp Hand-Cap for the time you are in the cast.
