Finishing Week 2 of TTC training with roughly 8 to 10 more to go. So far so good. Sealant is a mess and aluminum is sharp!
I never knew all the dynamics that are involved with drilling a perfect hole in Aluminum, or any material for that matter. Will play with Titanium and possibly Composite next week. Then fasteners soon after.
Went to the plant this afternoon for supplies from one of the tool rooms. Got to see the plane in-work sorta up close. BIG OLE THING it is! Can't wait to finally get there and get to work on it.
I am glad tha Boeing is here in the Charleston area, and we welcome all of you that are coming here to work. I think you will find this is a good place to live with a lot of things to do for all ages. Welcome to Charleston.

Yep people forget that with aircraft, while it all is "simple" stuff its also needs to be dead accurate, and whatever you do you can only do it to approved written instructions.
Airplanes are in the air the majority of every day, pretty much year round for 30 years experiencing temps of -60* to 120* more then once in the same day, so it does have to be accurate.

You'll find out in Orientation, before you go to your 3-days of Mandatory Training, when your TTC class will start. I just finished week 2 yesterday. There is a BUNCH of stuff you will be working on, learning, and doing at TTC. My time there, although short so far, has been very interactive and challenging.
Good luck when you get there - and forget EVERYTHING you might ever have known about aircraft maintenance or manufacturing. This bird is like no other out there and has the appropriate specs to go with it.
