Trying to decide which parade to take the kids to...

Any input on which is better?

Thanks.

They are different, so think which suits your kids: day vs. night; shoreline (mostly in one place) vs. crowded street but ability to walk into stores & restaurants; bands vs. little music; people interaction vs. pretty lights in the night...

My family and I recently moved here and we are planning on going to the Boat Parade - not really sure where to go to see it... any suggestions or directions?

Boat parade for sure!! It may be a little chilly, but bundle the kids up and go down to the Battery to watch - best view in my opinion. Some people "tailgate" and bring folding tables, chairs, and food for the festivities.

Our Christmas parade used to be spectacular and very family-oriented....however, the past 5 or 6 years it has been going downhill fast. It seems that anyone who is breathing and has a pulse can jump into the parade these days and it goes on and on and on and on, never seeming to end..... Everyday people walk and drive their cars in the parade these days - without being part of an organization or group.... People aren't polite and respectful anymore and will not let small children sit or stand in front of them....I've seen grown people jumping in front of children to block their view and to grab the candy being thrown. Let's just say that it isn't the "child-friendly/family-oriented" parade it used to be when my son was growing up - sadly.

hhm, Beaches, that is good info, thanks....

The kids want the regular parade but if it isn't good then I'll talk them into the boat parade....

Thanks OTC, I'll check into that.
