Summerville Light update: My kids took some friends last night. They said the 2nd mound is gone and the trench has been filled in since last weekend. They waited about 15 minutes and got bored - - didn't get to see the light. Then, they went to Strawberry Chapel... didn't see "ghosts", but said it was the creepiest place they've been.

True story:

Buried in the annals of the CPD, circa 1973, the is a report of an officer chasing an individual on Limehouse St, only to have said subject run into the side of a house and dematerialize.

The officer who reported this incident is long dead, so the question as to if it is an accurate depiction of reality is left up to the reader.

How many people went? See I've heard a theory that nothing ever happens if more than 3-4 people go. Strawberry Chapel is indeed creepy.

There were 5 of them, but there were 7 when I went and it came out a few times for us.... They didn't want to stick around long as it looked like people had been there recently (a small shelter, mattress and beer cans were at the end of the road). They went up to the door at the chapel and said they heard people inside???

Wow, this is all really creepy. I wonder how and why that trench got filled in so quickly? That is really weird. I wonder if someone was hiding out there that night you heard voices. eeekkk!

Default 2nd time during the day

So I went during the afternoon again and didn't see any strange apparitions on Sheep Island road. A cop asked about what I was doing there so I explained and he said he was just making sure I wasn't dumping anything. I can't believe all of the trash that people dump there. I guess if you ride your bike or walk you don't have to worry about cops questioning you but if you drive there, be prepared to be questioned by the local cops.

I think the cops are really cracking down on that area because I live close by and I see them quite frequently go down that road.

I don't think you are going to see it during the daytime, you have to go at night.

That's what I was thinking. (Though I'm sure it would be safer and less scary going during the day.....but you wouldn't be able to see the light during the daytime)

Yes people do dump back there and that in itself is creepy. That and the fact that if someone pulls up behind you, you had better hope they are friendly and not up to no good because you will be blocked in. That is what I never liked about going back there. I always felt like someone was going to appear out of nowhere. It is so isolated that someone could do something and no one would ever see or hear it. I'm glad to hear the cops are keeping an eye on it, they need to.

If you want some more entertaining reading I found two more stories about experiences back there:

Summerville Light

Summerville Light Road(South Carolina)
