My son and his wife are coming here for Christmas for the first time ever to see our new home and the Christmas sights in Charleston. We would like to take them out for a nice dinner a few days before Christmas, but I'm not sure where we should go. I thought the Charleston Grill, McCradys, or Magnolias, but I haven't eaten at any of those places. A place with some nice live music would be nice, but that's not the most important factor. Good food and ambience are the most important factors. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you all..
Patty

If you like pork, in many forms, you can add Sean Brock's new place to your short list...HUSK. I've not been, but it gets great reviews.

One review stated they only had one menu item that wasn't pork so be warned.

BAhaaaaa....

Try the new little wine place I posted about in Summerville after dinner or before, they are right in the downtown square area where all the lights are...

Magnolia's has been our 'go to' restaurant for several years. Always great food, and great service. I have heard people say things about service, but we usually make an early dinner reservation or a late lunch one, and have never been disappointed.

Default 17 North Roadside

As a visitor in the Mt P / Charleston area over the Thanksgiving holiday, My family and I enjoyed a relaxing Thanksgiving meal at 17 North. Maybe because it was a holiday, we had set aside high expectations of a first visit. We were wowed by the experience, food, service and atmosphere
