Default Catholic Churches in Charleston/Summerville

Looking for info regarding the parishes in the area. Where we live now they tell you what parish you have to go to. Do they do the same there? Are there nicer churches/congregations. We are hoping to visit in mid Aug and I would love to attend a mass while I am there.

Not being Catholic, I never knew about being told which parish to go to...see, I just learned something new on here! I don't know about the Catholic Churches in Summerville, but on James Island there is Nativity Catholic Church on Folly Rd. and on Savannah Hwy. (Rt. 17)there's Blessed Sacrament. Sorry...but those are the only suggestions I can offer.

Default Be there early!

With the boom in building around Charleston, the Catholic churches I've attended in Mt. Pleasant & on Sullivan's Island are PACKED & not just during tourist time. Look around the Diocese of Charleston site for specific locations & pictures. Of course, the cathedral is my choice if it's just for a visit. The Catholic Diocese of Charleston

Agreed. If it's just for a visit, be sure to check out the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Broad street in downtown Charleston. If for nothing else, definitely visit for the choir.

I live in Mount Pleasant and attend Christ Our King Catholic Church. I attend 9:30am mass and can get a seat if I enter the church at 9:20am.
