I know Memorial day is typically the "kick off' time for going to the beach, but wanted to see if anyone goes in April. We're anxious to get going! (Just moved here last August with 4 year old).

thanks!

Water is cold but for wading and playing it should be okay. My 4 year old loves the beach anytime. LOL

Depending on where you moved -from-, the water might be plenty warm in April for you. For instance, if you moved down from Bar Harbor, Maine, it'll feel like bath water.

I was out on the beach at Sullivans a few weeks ago & although I did not test out the water yet there were a couple families with younger kids playing in the shallow water right at the edge. Didn't seem to bother the kids - they were having a great time!

The water temp right now is 58-60 degrees. By April it should be about 62-64. Ya never know.

I don't think it is cold. I think the water is refreshing. It is even what I would consider WARM in March. By April or May it is like bathtub water.
