Can any one tell me what Highwood plantation in Summerville is like? My wife and I have been looking at one particular house for months on the web and can't understand why it hasn't been sold. It seems like the perfect house.

I really can't comment as to why someone else's listing hasn't sold. Highwoods is a nice newer construction neighborhood. There are only 10 or so homes in that neighborhood on the market at the moment, perhaps it's the competition or something as simple as supply vs. demand.

Truth be told, if you and your wife think it's the perfect house, what's holding you back?

The only thing holding us back is me finding a teaching position in the area. I won’t graduate college until the middle of December and it seems all the teaching positions in the Charleston/Summerville area have been filled. We are still hoping that a teaching position opens up right after new years. Other wise I will be saying hello to the New York City school system which is looking for hundreds of teachers. Someone please say a pray for us. The address of the home which we find ideal is 232 HIGHWOODS PLANTATION AVE. We have been looking at homes online for months and have fallen in love with this pretty house.

Well, good luck! I hope you're able to get a position soon then. That house might still be available, but December's a long way off.

Highwoods is a nice neighborhood located in an up and coming area. That house is a resale and they are still building new construction in that neighborhood. People are probably choosing to build rather than buy an existing resale home. Not that far up the road from Highwoods is another brand new construction neighborhood in the same price range. A lot of builders are throwing in incentives right now to encourage buyers of new homes.

I found out today that the house was indeed sold. Well I guess that’s the way life is. It did not make sense to believe it was possible anyway. I do have five months of college to complete and still have to find a teaching position in or around Charleston.

I am sorry there are so many wonderful houses out there. I am amazed at the listings I get everyday. You will find another house to fall in love with. What is not meant to be is not meant to be!

You should have little to no trouble at all finding the exact same house/exact same floorplan in either that same subdivision or another like it when you're ready to move. Focus on getting finished school and getting that teacher's job down here. Finding the housing will be the easy part.
