Huguenots
How many among you descends from the Huguenots who came to Charleston in droves in the early eighteenth century? I have several lines.

If you would, enlighten me as to what a Huguenot is. I'm not from the area.

FYI, there was a large Huguenot settlement in Chesterfield Cty., Virginia near Robious Road. Local church and Little Leage are named Huguenot. Could they be related to a settlement in C'ston?

400 years ago, it was a religious thing. Today it is more of an ancestral thing, or a historical thing.

Even though they were people with the same religious beliefs (French Protestants), if you mean related as in cousins, then I would guess then, in general, probably not. Huguenots were immigrating to the US for probably 100 years, or more (say, late 1500's to early 1700's), and they settled all up and down the east coast. New york, New Jersey, Virginia, South Carolina, Florida, and probably some other areas too. A fairly diverse group.
