I'm not at all surprised. They might as well have hung a sign out front that said 'Tourist Trap'.

We went once not long after they opened, and waded through the tacky Guy Harvey made in Taiwan knickknacks, were seated and waited 20 minutes for a waiter. Another 20 minutes for appetizers, and then after another 45 minute wait for our meal, we left, after telling the manager that we hadn't planned on spending the entire afternoon eating lunch. What food we did have was awful. If the food had been decent, we would have tolerated mucking through the 'buy me' area, but between the wait and the quality of the food, it just wasn't worth it.

Yup we endured it once. We had no wait for a table but the wait for food was way too long...and then the food quality was blech. I would have rather have gone to Coconut Joe's!!!! At least we would have been sitting on the beach.

Interesting. I lived in MTP until recently and never heard any of my friends even mention the place and they usually jump on new place.
