We went to Gilligan's and really liked it. We both had the boil dish with shrimp, sausage, and potatoes in it. They serve hushpuppies right away and those were verfy good also.

Actually the old church that was referred to is on the north end of Town Center by the Ethan Allen.

Down by the bridge, where you are talking about, actually was a restaurant. You can open one up there too. All it takes is $10,000+ per month in rent.

Wow - what a remark. Yes, it may be 'white bread/boring', but at least it's a Chinese restaurant that will actually have a nice sit down area instead of being just a take out place.

If you're looking for Chinese on the level of Chinatown NY or Boston, never gonna happen here.

I always wondered what that place was. Only $10,000, lol - wanna go in together and open a fish camp?

Gilligans is pretty good. We like the all you can eat local shrimp they have. It's 19.99 and you get all you can eat shrimp prepared anyway and three sides.

Several months ago I read Ruth Chris was looking for a site in Charleston. Has anyone heard anything? If they do open in Charleston I hope it is downtown.

Ruth Chris was suppose to be downtown in the Cigar Factory complex but the construction went belly up so I think that plan is on hold.
