I am headed down to Kiawah this week from NC. It is my husbands birthday and I would like to pick up a birthday cake as close to Kiawah as possible. I searched online and do not see much in Kiawah, but saw a few possibilities in West Ashley. Anyone have any recommendations? THanks!!

On 61 if your're heading from West Ashey to Charleston, I think there's a bakery called the Charleston Bakery in West Ashley just past CVS but before Sunflower Cafe on the right. Never been there but I saw the sign there the other day. Maybe someone else could give you more information.

You might want to try Newton Farms at Freshfields Village which is right outside Kiawah. From their website it appears they have a bakery.

Yes. I would think "The Great Cake Bakery" there would fit the bill. This would be the most convienient for you too. Here is a review from a customer.

You might give a call to Freshfields and see if they have a bakery with ready made cakes.

My experience with small bakeries around here is they make all their "cake" for the week on Monday or Tuesday. Picking up a cake at the last minute isn't an option with most of them.

Call Freshfields.
