Hi Everyone, I used to do some hockey officiating up north before I moved down here. I am just wondering if anyone knows if there is a big enough demand for referees down here to make it worth registering with USA Hockey again. I worked strictly youth hockey up north and that is what I am comfortable with. Thanks in advance for any information.

Call Matt Mons, 572-2717 @ the Carolina Ice Palace. There's a huge demand for refs, adult league and youth. The travel refs we had last year are horrible! If Matt's not there ask for Jeff Hartle. They will put you in contact with the Charleston Ref's Association.

A, B & C League's. A League is more ex college pro's, ex stingray players. Very good talent league.

B & C are more recreation leagues (Beer leagues)

They used to have an over 35 league too, Its been a year since I've been involved (had to take a break) > Played for over 25 yrs tho

oh yeah -- always in need of refs.......and bad calls in youth hockey is like humidity in Charleston.....count on it!!!! Husband still plays -- sometimes twice a week -- he's going on 40 years + of playing. It isn't pretty but he enjoys it.
