Hi everyone-the info on OTC's wife leads me to ask you for comments.

Tomorrow is to be 97 degrees and a heat index of 113. Now Charleston, tell me: is this NORMAL for the area at this time of year? I moved here from NC knowing full well the heat and humidity would be more but was not expecting this!

Hope this is just an aberration for the area as heat waves have been all over the US. Please confirm:

it is just this one odd summer right??

Where in NC did you move from? It's just as hot in NC as it is in Charleston, unless you were in the mountains. And yes this is kinda normal fo the heat of the summer, it gets worse too... Drink lots of water (or some people prefer ice cold beer) and take full advantage of the AC! Stay cool!

I will tell you that this is unusual, but we may be in a warming cycle, who knows, we have had snow the last two years..

It feels hotter than usual this year, at least out of the 6 years I've been here. Counting down until late fall/winter......

I'm hoping the pattern of the last 2 years or so continues - when it's been hot all over the country during the summer, it's snowed here in the winter a couple times ... Hoping that's the case this year too
