We are considering buying a house on Ocean Neighbors. Is the HOA still as strict as described in previous posts??

If no one else responds you might try reading through the HOA's meeting minutes to glean some information.

Are there any areas in Charleston that don't have HOAs? We've seen quite a few great houses but they are all in HOA communities, and they all sound strict as to what you can and cannot do to your own house.

There are some in Summerville, I am sure some of the areas of Old MtP do not have HOA and some older subs in other areas too....

Most if not all newer subs have them...

Don't look in subdivisions if you don't want an HOA. Look more toward city/town neighborhoods.
