My husband and our family just moved here from Texas. He is working for Boeing which seems to almost everyones reason to be here. We are adjusting well, at least we are getting alot of rain but the humidity is horrible along with mesquitos.

How many other families are move ins from out of state? Any moms out there wanting to meet new people. I know I sure would..

Amanda

Hi Amanda,

The good news is the mosquitoes don't stay around all year. Check out CharlestonMommies.com for some mom groups.

We are fairly new to the area. One thing that has been helpful for us is signing up for recreational sports. Soccer is our current sport and sitting on the side lines with other parents really makes us feel more connected to the community. Welcome...you are going to LOVE it!

If you think Boeing is why everyone is here, you need to get out more.

If you think this humidity is bad, wait until August of next year. You ain't seen nothin' yet.

Yep Boeing isn't the only reason but it is a reason it is a nice area. How old are your kid(s). Our son just turned one.
