We're considering a move to Mt. Pleasant. Any input would be appreciated. My wife and I have just recently retired and looking for a new home. We visited Charleston/Mt. Pleasant this past April and loved it. Great restaurants, friendly people and excellent golf courses.

We're both from New England and looking for easier winters.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I have found the same feelings about Mt. Pleasant. My wife and I are headed there thursday for our third visit to search for a house. I have a job offer and we want to leave the north as well. There are two really nice golf course communities across the road from each other in Mt. Pleasant off of Rt. 41, Dunes West and Rivertowne. I have played Dunes West and it is nice with about 3-4 holes along the river. There is suppose to be a lot more development and growth in Mt. P over the coming years. They are already planning a new hospital to be built along 17 just above route 41. The other nice thing about Mt. P that we like is that the beach is 10 minutes away. The people are definitely nicer than the north.

Hope this helps some.
