A guy I knew who lives in Belle Hall pretty much seems to think that a troll will get him if he crosses any bridges around here. Or maybe that there are gangs of bears out, and he'll be a victim of something if he ventures outside of his immediate surroundings. Everyone got tired of his attitude pretty quick.

I've met folks from I'on, Park West, Dune West, Rivertowne, Belle Halle, Long Point, Snee Farms, Old Village, Seaside, Oakhaven, Hamlin, Ravens Run,.....sure there are more -- and can't stereotype any of them. I have yet to meet a snob & I tend to be good about sniffing those folks out. I have yet to meet anyone from Ohio. Quite a few folks from around these parts.....some from Atlanta, some from other areas but nobody from Ohio.

All the subdivisions seem to have a mix of young families, old families, and retirees.

I've said it before and will continue to say it -- the only snobs I've met are the ones on this board who seem to harbor a great deal of resentment and bitterness towards MP residents.

I can't speak for them, but I think they think we all think we are better than others. Usually that's what a snob does. I can't speak for all of Mount Pleasant residents but I can say for me -- of course i think Mount Pleasant is the best FOR ME....that's why I chose to live here. Do I look down on someone who has chosen to live somewhere else - NOT AT ALL.

I live in Mt P, in a condo, not a house. And drive a 95' pickup. You won't see the snobs come out in public....unless you look like someone who "doesn't belong". Then you see Mt P's ugly side. Comments like "How do YOU even afford to live here." Or staring at you when you drive to a friends house because you are NOT driving a Lexus or Porsche. Actually had the cops called on me once when I drove to Rivertown to visit a friend. Parked my truck. Cops drove by, were very cool, but said a resident thought I "was up to something" because they thought I didn't belong in the neighborhood. Go out to eat and you'll see what places people who "belong" think when you go to a nice place in Mt P. And I'm white, I can't imagine being black in Mt P, that must be awful.

Mt P's nice and all. But I'd live in Sville or West Ashley and not miss it. In fact....the town needs to fix it's out of control suicide problem. Yep. Dirty dirty lil secret of Mt P- highest suicide rate in SC.

I'm a MTP resident, and I'm no snob. Nor do I appreciate the comments from people on here, at work, around the area in general, who assume I'm rich and snobby just because I have a MTP mailing address. I actually had a friend from work say, "Why do you even talk to me if live here?!" Made me kind of angry, TBH. Oh well, haters gon' hate.

Not all MtP people are like that. To be fair. But a far higher % of them are than need be. The smuggness there is unbelievable. In fact, the city government changed it's slogan to "Come On Over" in an attempt to make the town seem more inviting, which it is certainly NOT.

Most envy of things comes from those not being able to afford such even when they say they can afford such but do not for yabba, yabba, inane reasons.

As I do not know how to edit an existing post, I will add on what got deleted:

Most envy/put down of things comes from those not being able to afford such even when they say they can afford such but do not for yabba, yabba, inane reasons.

To clarify. Many that would like to play golf but have neither the time nor money to do so, do not put down those playing golf.

Those playing golf on less then better courses are the first that will put down those that can afford to be in better, more expensive private clubs.
