I was looking into moving to Savannah Ga for a while but for personal reasons decided it wasn't right for my fiance and me. While I was looking into Savannah I came across a lot of stuff about ghosts and hauntings. This may seem stupid but I was wondering if a lot southern towns are considered "haunted"? Then again, maybe I've seen too many movies. It's not a problem, actually my fiance and I are really in to things like that. We like taking haunted tours and hearing stories about encounters with ghosts. I was just curious. If someone could fill me in on more information about this topic that would be great. Thank you!!!

Charleston has a good deal of ghost stories. I think it has more to do with the age of the cities, than them being southern. I know Williamsburg, VA Plymoth Mass., and other areas where colonists settled seem to have more ghost stories than say, Phoenix, AZ.

Charleston has plenty of ghost tours downtown and through the plantations that you could do at nighttime. Lots of fun!

Ghost tales come with places that have a history... Battles and wars only fuel that. The south has a lot of that... I wouldn't necessarily move to a place solely based on the ghost issue, but even living in the Charleston area puts you not too far from a weekend trip to Savannah. Gosh I hate posting here, you guys make me miss my old stomping ground more and more

Ghost stories wouldn't influence where I move but I still find it very interesting. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I love reading about ghost stories. I just thought it would be cool if Charleston did have ghost tours that my fiance and I could experience together. It would be something that we both would enjoy so I thought I would try to get some information on it from the locals.

I haven't heard about that one. What is it? Is it a tour of a cemetery?
