Default What are schools like on St. John's Island?

I read that St. John's Island is poised for growth in the future. However, what is the public school situation like there now?

Also wondering about the local opinion of the St. John's High School on Johns Island.....any specific feedback available about the student body, staff, academic achievement, community, etc.? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

John's Island is FABULOUS!!!!! You can check out the school board website, www.ccsdschools.org for a complete rundown of the schools - and I'm afraid you will not find good report cards for any John's Island school. BUT one thing many people may not know about is the brand new magnet program at Haute Gap Middle for high achievers. My son was invited to participate but we decided to send him to a private school. However, we know many children who DID enroll at the Haute Gap program and their families are impressed! Not many middle schools can offer an IB program.

I personally live on John's Island and so do my family members. It is quite an amazing place to be! Although it's a melting pot, I actually consider it to be a little artsy and very, very welcoming. There are only a few restaurants so we usually end up running into the same families over and over. Not a lot of traffic and definitely laid back and unpretentious. I am in real estate and keep my eye on everything. Don't hesitate to email me with questions. We'd love to have some more nice families over here.
