Default Good preschool around Charleston metro

My husband and I are moving down to the Charleston area in December. We both have spent our entire lives in the north, and we are very excited about getting exposed to the culture in the south.

One concern I have for now is whether or not it would be easy to find a good pre-school for my 3-yr old son. Currently, my son is going to the preschool affiliated with the university, which is the best in town. We've been living at the university town for the past 7 years. The university and its laboratory high school are homes to over 20 nobel laureates, that's why we are little biased towards academic excellence.

Although I definitely wish my little boy would spend more fun time with his buddies under the sun in Charleston, I certainly will still keep an eye on the academic dimension of his development.

So, my question is, would any veteran charleston-ers be kind enough to give me a few names of highly reputable preschools around the Charelston area? Also, we pay something around $90k a year for my son's daycare tuition, how does the rate look like in Charleston?

Am I reading correctly??? You pay $90K a year for preschool. You actually mean 90 thousand dollars a year??? That is unbelievable. Wow. Sorry, I cannot help you, but I just had to ask if I was reading this correctly! I am planning to open a home daycar/preK in Summerville when I move there in June, but, I am guessing that is not what you want. Good luck in your search!

sorry, my typo. it's $9k, not $90K. if $90K, I would quit my job and open a daycare myself.
