Search the P&C's archives. They've got a few photos of the "messy" yard this good woman was jailed 6 days over.
And what do you know? While all her snooty Mt P neighbors and peers could do was complain and call the cops about it..............some good Sumaritans from GOOSE CREEK came down to volunteer to help her.
Which is why I'll be leaving Mt Pretentious on May 1st and never look back. Maybe one day Mt P can just pass a law that bans a person from being a member of the middle or lower class, and they can have their prestine city all to themselves once and for all.
|
Nothing like a link showing a photo and a story that clearly states the yard work was almost finished when the picture was taken.
So where is the "before" picture now that we've seen the "after"

The picture is not all that pleasant.
Think of it this way. One is not respecting their neighbors to live with a mess in a front yard.
I wouldn't do it out of respect to my neighbors. For it to go on and on month after month is just
not acceptable.
What my Mom did at 80 years old, so as not to live like that, is take trips to the township dump.
There is no excuse for excess rubbish.

WOW. There it is. THERE is the Mt P attitude. No one wants an "eyesore" in the community. Wow.
Define "eyesore"??? Because in this same city, 150 years ago, a black person in a neighborhood was an "eyesore". Is an old car an "eyesore"? To some, yes. Is a law against cars that are considered ugly next?
You would have made a great commy. This woman was causing absolutely NO DANGER to her neighbors. But....like blacks in the 1800's, she was considered an "eyesore" and the neighbors contacted the men with guns to take care of it.

LMHO...Oh that is just crazy.
and....I am talking about the here and now. Not the yesterdays, long and gone.
I don't live in Mt. Pleasant, but I adore it. I am just a Jersey girl. My parents, bless their hearts, taught me to respect all around me, and my neighbors.
To understand that just one person who lives in shambles can ruin it for an entire lot.
I did see a before picture someone posted and it was not good at all.
If I knew this lady needed help and I lived nearby I would have been the first one there.
Still....Nothing will ever stop me from loving such a terrific place as Mt. Pleasant.
(I can only guess that maybe the landlord rose up the rent? Thus, the distain...)

I bet if all the rich, arrogant, intolerant and nosy Mt P residents who whined about it.......had themselves faced unemployment and foreclosure, THEY would have other worries than the "aesthetics" of their yard....or what the neighbors opinion of the beauty was.
BUT...as is normal for Mt Pretentious, the neighbors beautification concerns outweighed this womans troubles, and the woman was jailed.
F**k this city, I'm counting the days til May 1st when I get out of this place and move elsewhere in Charleston.

Why do you keep dissin Mt. Pleasant? I know a bunch of real nice people there. Cool people. This woman oughta cleaned up her own mess if you asked me.

You pretty much summed it up, right there.
Read long enough and you'll actually start feeling sorry for the poor guy. Then it's just no fun responding to him anymore.

Y'all know you're just giving him ammunition? Of course, he did reply to himself six times in a row today...so maybe not. I agree with you roxanne. I just can't imagine going through life that darn angry about everything, bless his heart.

I keep wondering where all the outrage is over the poor woman in Bonneau who was in trouble for the fake testicles hanging from her truck. Guess it was her bad luck that she didn't live in Mount Pleasant; here she could have counted on plenty of keyboard warriors to fight her cause for her.
