I've been seeing dolphins around the Folly Beach, Morris Lighthouse area lately. Are they here year round or is there a time of year you are more likely to see them? Certain locations where you are more likely to see them? I have a girlfriend coming from Milwaukee for a visit and she'd love to see them.

We saw some while my son and I were having lunch on Shem Creek. My entire family spotted them between the sandbar and shore on Sullivan's Island. Both of these times were during the summer. I don't know when the best time to catch a glimpse but it is always a nice surprise.

They are here year round CCW.
If you had a small boat and could get up in the shallow water flats,,,,,you could watch them eat red drum. Its pretty cool if you have never seen it.

Just hang out at Red's or Water's Edge in Shem Creek. You'll see them all day in that creek.

If you go to Beach Walker Beach on a low tide you could possibly find them fishing and pushing their catch up onto the beach. When you get to the Beach go right and walk out to the very end (Captain Sam's Inlet) The inlet is between BWB and Seabrook. It's like SeaWorld al'a natural!! Great Show.

We have been here less than a year and it's the highlight of our time spent so far.

Shem Creek is one of the best places. Last time we were there the shrimp boats were coming in.....the dolphins were hanging around -- a family -- it was so amazing.

They eat the by-catch that they toss off the boats. They always follow them around.....

Is there a certain time when the shrimp boats typically come in? I love seeing the dolphins!
