Default Trouble pulling trigger on move to Mt. Pleasant

I have done tons of research and have visited 2 times. Already have a job in place. Looks to be a great town with lots of friendly people and continued growth. Just need to hear from people who live there, or from those that have made the move from the north as well, positive or negative about Mt. Pleasant. Just looking for feedback about the area.

I'm not 100% positive, but I've never seen anyone from these boards say they live in Mount Pleasant.

On the positive side, the schools are good and the crime is still low, although I have noticed there seems to be a rise going on there recently. You are close to downtown Charleston activities and restaurants. The shopping there is good and there are lot's of restaurants to choose from. You are closer to the beach, which can be good and bad.

We didn't choose to live there because we felt we were getting nickeled and dimed to death for everything. From homes, to homeowners dues, to taxes, to insurance. We didn't want to live house poor. The homes there are priced 100k to 200k more for the same home you can get somewhere else, and the quality is not all that great. Personally, I think it's too clone like there. All the neighborhoods started to look alike after a while. Traffic is another thing. We went there last Friday for a high school football game and it took us a half hour to go 3 miles, and this was not the game traffic either. You also have to worry more about hurricanes because you are closer to the ocean.
