This is why some people make me so mad. It wasn't the gator's fault. He was where he belonged. That guy is lucky he didn't die.
This reminds me of the story some actor I think it was Paul Bethany went to Africa to be with his wife and kids. While she was working he took the kids on a photo safari. They came upon a pride of lions and the guide told them not to get out of the vehicle. He asked him why he had to tell them that. The guide said because they have had a couple of instances of where the people got out of the vehicle and went up to the lions for pictures. Needless, to say, they were killed. Sounds like these people might be related to that guy.

expensive electric bill
Hi, we own a home on Isle of Palms. It is about 3800 square feet and we pay on average $ 400 a month in electric bills... does this seems high? We live in Indiana , in a 9000 square foot home and pay around 300.... any thoughts

$400 monthly during the summer, probably not. How old is the A/C unit, windows, doors, etc? 3800sq.ft. is a lot to cool during peak weather, especially if you've got older doors, windows and a/c units. I know people spending $200+ in mount Pleasant for just over 2000 sq.ft.. It's the constant onslaught of the local temps, most likely, keeping your A/C running. You could try setting the temp 2 degrees higher on your thermostat, it'll probably save you a few bucks monthly.

That seems about right around here. I ballpark it at $100 per 1,000 s.f. for both electric & gas.
The heats not too bad, but the A?C on IOP can be pretty tough. Do you rent it out?

Sounds about right.
You can always check with SCE&G & have an energy review.

A/C + IOP + Summer = $$$

moving to chas.
Well I would want to know as a native of charleston, how others think we charleston natives feel that everybody north is moving to chas. One reason why crime rate is so high in n. charleston is because of a growing population of people running to chas. Because of what I like to call "outsiders" moving to my hometown, the crime rate has increased, and so has the polution. Sooner or later, charleston will not have any charlestonians, nothing but northerners and people from every city but charleston, and when that happens, then I will move!!!

So the crime rate in North Charleston was 0 before "everyone" moved into the lowcountry? I find that hard to believe, and distinctly remember arresting natives as well as transplants when I worked for CPD.

Let me get this straight. The crime rate in North Charleston is because of the 'outsiders'? How so?
And how are the Charlestonians going to be wiped out? Is it a birth rate issue? An influx of people does not eliminate the Charlestonians, unless they leave.
This makes absolutely no sense at all, except perhaps the pollution part.
I'm curious though, where exactly are you headed to avoid this?
