The crane is being moved today from the Columbus Street terminal to the Wando terminal around 4 pm at low tide. I thought this would be interesting to go watch, especially as they go under the big bridge. I will post pictures later if I end up going.

Here are some pictures. I would have had better pictures if we weren't kicked off the pier at 5:00 pm so they could lock the gate.

was the crane placed on a barge, or does it stay on one permanently?

The crane is only on the barge during the move. It rides on a rail system while in operation at the port.
They had to take advantage of the full moon low tide to get it under the bridge.......
