I thought I would jump in...there are a large number of homes for sale on the market in White Gables right now as the development has been built long enough for people to start to resale. It is a beautiful area and community; we just sold my assistant's home located in there. You will see a large number of houses for sale right now if you look in White Gables. They are bit more expensive than some of the comparable subdivisions, largely for the community feel it offers. Hope this helps.

There are a lot of different choices as far as communities are concerned here in the Summerville area. I went through four of them yesterday with a client and they all had a different feel. Having said that, it's pretty easy to whittle the list down once we know what you don't like as opposed to what you do like. It just seems that the process of elimination combined with a list of priorities works better. Of course, the schools are a big draw here in Summerville, as they have been continually rated at the top.

Ok I'll join this club too! I am planning a trip in October too, to check out the area. So far seems loike a pretty nice place from what I can find, but like someone said you have to see for yourself.
I have a question if anyone knows, I have 5 chihuahua dogs and am looking for a property that does not have a HOA. AM I looking in the wrong area? MY dogs are all under 7 lbs and are house dogs, I plan to fence where ever I buy, buy dont want the hassle of resrictions!!! ANyone know anything??

Not all neighborhoods have HOA's, and even those that do, not all of them are so strict on small dogs. Now, all 5 chihuahua's barking at once, could be an issue re: noise ordinances/livability complaints, but there's absolutely nothing preventing you from buying a home that backs up to woods, or isn't in a neighborhood at all to lessen the impact.

Dj is correct, many of the older neighborhoods do not have HOA's or they are less strict than the newer developments. Are you looking for town living or would you rather be out in the country a bit?

I'll take 5 Chihuahua's over 2 bloodhounds anyday.

Plenty of places here that would suffice. You need to first find out where you want to be logistically, then find the best area suited for the family dogs.

Unless you are running a kennel, the options are very wide open.

NO kennel, just very pampered pets! Of course they bark ( not consistantly)when they go out, but they are never out for more than about 10 minutes at a time.
Thank you all for your help!

Default Indian Springs

We moved to the Indian Springs section of Summerville about 3 weeks ago and we love it. It seems very family oriented and the people we've met so far have been wonderful.

I grew up in Summerville and have never lived anywhere else so I guess I don't really have anything to compare it to but I love living here! My husband grew up in Goose Creek and always wanted to live in Summerville. One of his co-workers said, "There are two types of people-those that live in Summerville and those that wish they did."

To be honest, most people from up north would probably choose Mt. Pleasant over Summerville because it's much closer to the beach and downtown Charleston. What keeps people from buying in Mt. Pleasant is the price of houses and the traffic. You can get a lot more house for the money in Summerville and the schools are the best in the area.

What are you looking for- a new home or an older home, a neighborhood or some land? What amenities are important to you and what price range are you looking for?

well, here is what I am looking for...

Single family home 2,000 sq ft +
3 or 4 bedroom
2+ bathrooms
Garage
Master bath with big tub
fenced in yard (private pool a big plus)
Family oriented neighborhood
SAFE
Good public school close to neighborhood
$250k or under

Is this too much to ask for???

Any realtors out there want to take us on a tour October 22nd and/or 23rd???

I am a licenced realtor in Delaware and I also own a sporting goods store that I would like to move down with us, so I will also be looking for commercial retail property to buy or lease.
