Well, it is 30 miles to downtown from Indian Springs. You should be able to make it to work in that time frame. Right now, there are six houses on the market in Indian Springs priced between 150k-180k.

Default Just moved from Delaware in 08/07

I just wanted to respond to the person moving from Delaware to Summerville,SC . We moved from North Wilmington,DE about 3 months ago. We absolutely love it. There are some valid points about traffic. However after living somewhere that it took me an hour or more to travel 12 miles this is nothing. I'm sure it's different from how it used to be here, but 100x's better traffic wise then Delaware. I live at the very far end of Dorchester rd. I love it I do all my shopping at this end or take 17a I do avoid Dorchester RD alot. We were relocated and initially placed in an apartment in Wescott. It was horrible as far as traffic goes on that side of town. My children love it here they said the kids here make the kids at home seem like monster's they are 8&9. They jump on quads here and go fishing their is a sense of freedom that they love. They don't even play video games anymore. I love the schools and we were in a very good school at home had even done private for awhile. South Carolina schools get a bad wrap abouth their test. I've seen the info on their PACT those test are way harder then are DSTP if we gave those tests to the kids in Delaware are state would have to same type of scores. I must say I've lived in DE for 33 yrs and this was a huge change, and I love it throw in the weather and I can assure you you'll love it.

Thank you so much for your honesty! we are struggling with the decsision to move to the Summerville area for a job transfer or just stay in our beloved Portland, Oregon. There is a better money offer and we're interested in eploring the south. BUT we did see what you discribed and until now no one has been admitted that the summerville that we saw was the real one..... WOuld you siggest any other community in the area?

I noticed that some of the homes in Summerville are in Fort Dorchester High school zoning, District 2. I noticed this school is actually located in North Charleston. Can anyone give me some feedback on the best high school in Summerville for my incoming freshman daughter? She is an honors and G.a.t.e student coming from Fairfax county so I want to make sure she will be in a school with the least amount of "distractions", the most opportunities, and the most attentive teachers.

She will be bored in most of the public schools, but both Fort Dorchester or Summerville High have been around a while and have established programs. Not sure about the newest school in DD2, they have only been open this year.
