Hubby is a real golf lover. I think the course he played when we were down there was Legend Oaks Plantation in Summerville - it was lovely and reasonable.

Any other golfers out there who can recommend the best courses?

Thanks!

Wescott would be a good one to consider.

There are very few private courses in the Charleston area. The vast majority of courses are public and starving, so there are many good courses available to play for short money.

Thanks guys! I think hubby paid $19 WITH A CART when he played, which blew our minds. On Long Island, there are only a couple of public courses and all of the others are private country clubs.

According to these websites, there are 41 public courses in Suffolk County and 10 in Nassau.

paperman1111,

If you look, 6 of the 10 in Nassau (which is the county we live in) are only 9 hole courses. Hubby usually plays Eisenhower or the Town of Oyster Bay courses.
