Thoughts on the the neighborhood around The Citadel? Cute cottages and green space.

I'm coming from Houston, sprawl kills. We want to be able to walk down Kimg, just the area area around 26 concerns us

I have officially traced one ancestor back to the First Fleet arriving in Charleston in 1670, another ancestor arriving in 1671, and another one migrating from Pennsylvania to Charleston in 1810. I'm in.

Default Downtown Charleston S.C. Nostalgia

I am looking for a specific link that talks about Charleston through the decades.

Things like how Charleston's night life has evolved and changed over the decades in terms of the most popular bars and restaurants of the 1960's and 1970's downtown for example.

Other things like the first Cooper River Bridge run, and the first Spoleto festival.

Does anyone remember those old rainbow stickers from Piggly Wiggly?

The first one was from 1979, and the second one was from 1980 that had the Piggly Wiggly logo on it.

It was some kind of contest in coordination with 1250 WTMA or 1390 WCSC.

IF you were listening to the radio and a DJ called out your make, model, and licence plate, that meant you won a prize.

Because the people running the contest were driving around in a car trying to get behind cars with the rainbow sticker.

They would pull you over and hand you the prize.

Nothing like this would ever happen these days.
