Poor baby. I've heard people say the shirt is more effective if you can get it on him before he ever hears the first clap of thunder. No easy trick, predicting weather though.
People swear by Rescue Remedy, but you still would have to give it to your dog in advance of a storm.
One of mine used to react just like that to thunder, but after one especially bad week of daily storms he seems to have become immune. He still absolutely won't go outside in the rain, but at least he isn't cowering on my lap.

Hmmm, I can watch the weather online and try that... it makes sense! I wouldn't mind putting it on even an hour in advance of the prediction and then take it off if it doesn't happen... thanks

Another thing we learned was kind of obvious in retrospect. When stormy weather was predicted we would make an effort to hit the park. An exhausted dog might just sleep through the storm.

If OleTomCat gets to be the ring leader I have to insist that he wear the shiny black top hat and tails to the next meet up. All in favor?

I respectfully decline the appointment to ring leader......

I thought you girls were coming up with a place, my wife nominated Cherries, but that would have to be an afternoon thing...
