Also, look at realtor.com and the rentals that are available. Id much rather be in a condo/townhome than an apartment and it's very doable at that price point.

Look for a condo/townhome that is privately owned. Negotiate just like purchasing a home.

You can do that through a realtor as well. Doesn't have to be privately owned.

I have done this in the past to include knocking $25 off a month and even getting a washer/dryer included. So always see what you can get...especially if the rental has been on the market for awhile.

Agreed that it doesn't have to be privately owned.

$25 is nice...but we negotiated down over $300 per month on a 3br in MtP.

Moral of this story...do your best not to pay the listed rent. Try to negotiate.
