So, I know that South Carolina has pretty high unemployment but at times, it makes me wonder if people are actively looking for work. My husband has been looking and looking for good workers to hire for the landscaping business he works for. So, I'm reaching out to y'all in case you know of someone or can pass along the info to them.
He's looking for laborers. No experience at all needed, just a willing to work hard. Lots of overtime potential. The pay is only $10/hr but if y'all know someone who needs a first job or just something, he'll hire you if you're breathing and willing to work.
The other one he just cannot find is an experienced irrigation supervisor. He needs someone turn key ready for this job. If you live somewhere else, he's okay on waiting for you to move here too. This job could pay into the 40's if you have the experience.
He's tried the unemployment office, craigslist, word of mouth, everything. He's not even getting anyone to apply! I wouldn't normally do this but he's desperate. Some of the people he's hired lately aren't worth a darn and it's driving him nuts. Seriously, if y'all know anyone at all, please let me know!
Hey there, my boyfriend and I are moving to Charleston in early June. His parents own a lawn care company in his hometown, and he worked for them all through his teenage years. We'll both be looking for work when we get there!

I'll pass your post along to anyone I know looking. And thanks for coming here to ask.
Thanks - I can actually tell the economy is improving because a year ago, a job like this out there would have garnered 100 resumes but nowadays, no one wants it. I guess that's good and bad. Good that they're expanding and hiring. Bad because they can't find anyone. Once e-verify came along, that changed the dynamic for a lot of landscaping, construction, and manual labor jobs.
We are moving in april, hubby went to school for horticulture, email me mlorinchack@gmail.com, I will give you his number. We are in town until the morning.

Passed the email along to my husband. He will contact.
Meaning you had to hire people legal to work in the US?
Oh yeah, there were some surprising results on ppl that turned up not to be legal. Even those they were sure to be legal and had all the proper looking paperwork. These ppl were here for 20+ years some of them, had houses, paid taxes, everything. E-verify has actually done a lot for employers to identify who is and is not legal.
ETA: The company my husband works for has been very diligent about following all of the rules but until E-verify, it was actually hard to identify who was and was not legal. Because the last thing you want to do is be sued for discrimination on top of everything if you just assume someone isn't legal. I will give props to the gov't for coming up with that system.

Sounds good
