Default 24 Vet Hospital

Other than Charleston city, what other towns have a 24-Hr Vet Hospital? Mount Pleasant? James Island?

Are the only people hospitals other than Charleston city in Mount Pleasant?

I'm pretty sure there is at least one in the North Area .. I'll ask my wife when she gets home from work to confirm.

... Also you can check with the local clinics and ask them about 24-hr emergency care etc .. some of them may do it on a case by case basis and/or have a veterinarian that would be willing to meet you at the clinic on an emergency basis.

There is no veterinary emergency clinic in Summerville. We live in Summerville, and when we had a vet emergency, we had to take our puppy to the
Greater Charleston Emergency Veterinary Clinic on West Montague Avenue in North Charleston. It was the only emergency clinic close to Summerville.

There IS a "people hospital" in Summerville. It is Summerville Medical Center on Midland Parkway.

I believe there is (I know there was) a 24/7 vet hospital in Mount Pleasant, off Rte 17, Vet Emergency Care 843-849-9473???????. I think they might be associated with the place on Montague, in North Charleton.

Off Rte 17, a bit north of Anna Knapp, behind the old Kentucky Fried Chicken place.

We used them once and were very satisfied.

No, we don't forsee a lot of emergencies, but given our history, something always happens in the middle of the night or on a weekend after the vet's office has closed.

When our cat became ill this past summer, we were at the vet hospital weekly for blood transfusions and otheremergency type services. Our cat sadly passed away in August, and we got a dog on New Year's Eve who already has been to the ER twice.

The nearest animal ER to us is 30 minutes without traffic, which is nerve-wracking when a pet needs care ASAP. So we really want to be close to one. Same with a people hospital.

Is there a people hospital in Mt. Pleasant?

I also had read somewhere - can't find it now - that there was a 24 Hr vet hospital in Mt. Pleasant.

I'm not a fan of the "on-call" clinics, where you call and number, and meet someone at a day clinic. When time is of the essence with a pet, it's nice to rush in and have someone be there to take the reins and help.
