Can anyone recommend a "reasonable" insurance company in the local area for homeowners insurance? We are shopping around and I thought I would ask you all first.

We're with a national carrier but we had to transfer to SC ... The rates went down at least by half... We were pleased!

Be aware that some insurance companies aren't writing policies for Mt Pleasant. State Farm is one of those. Once you get away from the coast towards Summerville, you won't see these restrictions.

Yes, there are a number of companies that will not write for Mt. P and other coastal locations.

C.T. Lowndes
Farm Bureau
Wynn & Assoc.
Taylor Agency
Progressive

All are writing policies locally, and all seem to be coming back with very good quotes.
