There are not many in Charleston. But, those recommended to you are way out from central Charleston , you will be driving 30 minutes or more to get downtown.
I would recommend staying closer in at the Tides Folly Beach http://tidesfollybeach.com/ or the Holiday Inn Express at Isle of Palms. Both are far less expensive than those located farther out recommended to you.

I would recommend staying closer in at the Tides Folly Beach Folly Beach – Sandy beaches. Seaside dining. Coastal charm. or the Holiday Inn Express at Isle of Palms. Both are far less expensive than those located farther out recommended to you.
Getting to and from Folly Beach come summertime can take you as long as it does to get to either resort. One road to the beach and so very slow......

Well Moneill, I am lucky enough to live close enough to Folly Beach, that I can ride my bike there!

Default Both above suggestions are great

I've lived in one of the suggested resorts and frequent the other. Both are great places to visit. One is a bit further from Charleston but is beautiful and well maintained. The other is an area favorite for the proximity to Charleston and her surrounding areas.
